yikes.

Okay. I am well aware that I am the worlds worst blogger. But give me a break, it's my first attempt and I've got some other stuff going on right now :).

But really, bottom line, is that actually just being pregnant is probably just not very interesting to anyone but me and Jason. So there really hasn't been anything to update since we found out baby boy is indeed a baby boy! I've just been keeping him in there, growing our perfect baby boy. Don't get me wrong, I am incredibly glad this has been, for lack of a better term, a boring pregnancy. I am constantly surrounded by people having anything but, and for them my heart breaks. So I will take my boring 9 months and treasure every single moment I get to keep this baby in here, safe and sound, until he is ready to make his appearance in our little world.

But things are happening now! We are at 36 and a half weeks. I get emails from 4 different places reminding me that, although we started off the size of a poppyseed, he is now ranging in size from a crenshaw melon (what?) to a watermelon. None of which is easing my mind about actually getting this melon sized thing out. But that's a worry for a different day.

Jason and I have been lucky enough to have been given four baby showers. We are incredibly fortunate to have such generous familes, friends, and co-workers. My cute little thank you cards can not express enough how thankful we are to have such people in our lives! Without purchasing much for baby at all, his nursery is so full of things he needs/will need/could ever want there is literally no room for him in there. (No, really. His crib is currently housing some baskets full of stuffed animals, bath things, clothes that he will have months to grow into, and decorations for the wall. So really, at this particular moment, there is indeed no room for him!). Every time I walk in there I am overwhelmed by every single gift we have been given, whether it be something as big as the crib (thanks mom!) to every single baby sock and pacifier. Blows my mind. We love you all!

Speaking of the nursery, It. Is. AMAZING. I love being in his room! No, the paint job isn't perfect, and it's not the biggest or fanciest of rooms, but it is PERFECT for our little guy that's coming! I cannot wait for him to get here to use it! If I can figure it out, I will post pics here of it! No promises though. I'm not a computer person. I'm more of a people person.

So there's a little update for you. Jason and I are settling into the final stretch of this pregnancy, enjoying watching and feeling him kick around to get settled, washing and folding baby clothes, and trying to figure out things like pack and plays and bouncy seats. All things neither of us have ever done before, but we are getting through it. Anxiously awaiting his arrival, but not really wishing it to hurry along, because we also know that as soon as he gets here, we will no longer be just the two of us. We really like being just the two of us. But I cannot wait to see how much we love being the three of us! With 2 crazy dogs, of course...

It's a....

boy! Yes, I am soon to be outnumbered in my house. We had an ultrasound on Monday which showed us a perfect looking healthy baby boy!! We truly couldn't be happier. I have a feeling this boy baby has amassed quite a red sox collection from certain people in the short 48 hours we have known he was a he.

Jason worded it quite well when he said that this gets more real every single day. Yes, the many positive pregnancy tests, the 12 week ultrasound, hearing the heartbeat, and the constant morning (really, more like all-day-every-day) sickness helped, but now it's not just a baby in there...it's a baby boy! And we saw him doing flips and waving to us. While it's still rather surreal at this point, it's getting a little more real everyday! 19 weeks down, 21 weeks to go!

Thanks for the comments guys :) . We are very excited about this! There's not much going on right now, but on April 27th we get to find out whether it's a boy or a girl (I think boy, Jason hasn't said...). After that we get to start painting and picking things out! We're starting to empty out the room that will be the nursery (or at least thinking really hard about starting to empty it out). For us only having been in the house since November there is a lot of stuff everywhere...

Here's a picture we got at our 12 week ultrasound... baby has a nose! and 2 arms, 2 legs, and a brain. We are very proud parents...
